Getting to know you

No one knows you because no ones been through what you’ve been. But knowing people in the same class as you is an advantage. You feel comfortable and not judged by what you’re doing. You feel support radiating and backup. I’m sitting with a friend I’ve been with since the beginning of high school and a super supportive cousin that has been with me my whole childhood. Being like this makes me feel calm, although it can be distracting.

August 15 The Socratic method can be a good idea when students in the class make it welcoming and no one feels belittled by their ideas. The article mentions that it is sometimes used to tear down ideas they hear. Its not a debate and there should be no strong judgement against the others thoughts. There should be acknowledge and if there is disagreement just letting their side be known. With a group full of teenagers its hard because everyone wants to be right. With a class full of nerds no one wants to be told their wrong or embarrassed by something they said. When everyone is accepting it makes the Socratic so much easier because no one is scared of sounding stupid.
