The Earth on Turtles back

My first impression on this story was that it’s a story about how the earth was created. These animals really saved this woman that’s kind will kill at these animals. These are actual stories chief tell the children of the tribe. This is how kids believe the earth was made and it makes sense as a story should. There is no hole a kid can poke it’s finger at to realize that’s not true. Or that, that story actually happened. It’s a fun story, like Santa Clause.

August 15 The Socratic method can be a good idea when students in the class make it welcoming and no one feels belittled by their ideas. The article mentions that it is sometimes used to tear down ideas they hear. Its not a debate and there should be no strong judgement against the others thoughts. There should be acknowledge and if there is disagreement just letting their side be known. With a group full of teenagers its hard because everyone wants to be right. With a class full of nerds no one wants to be told their wrong or embarrassed by something they said. When everyone is accepting it makes the Socratic so much easier because no one is scared of sounding stupid.
